In a recent sit-down interview with Piers Morgan Uncensored, controversial social media influencer Andrew Tate delved into his legal struggles and his belief that he is being targetted by what he referred to as the “Matrix.”
Reflecting on the tumultuous past year, Tate opened up to Morgan about the challenges he has faced.
“It’s certainly been an interesting one,” he remarked. “I’ve been constrained this entire year, I spent 93 days in a Romanian dungeon, five months locked in my house, and now I’m restrained within the country of Romania, so it’s certainly been a turbulent time.”
The former professional kickboxer claimed he had been punished by the “Matrix,” which he often uses as a metaphor for people and entities he believes control society, for speaking public about political issues such as the war in Ukraine and the pandemic.
“If you speak against [the Matrix] and people listen to you… you will pay the price and that is why I was locked in that cell,” he said.
In September, a court in Romania’s capital modified the geographical restrictions imposed on Tate, ABC News reported.
The 36-year-old, who faces charges of rape, human trafficking, and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women, can now travel freely within Romania, according to his spokesperson.
Previously, Tate’s movements were confined to the territories of Bucharest Municipality and the nearby Ilfov County, requiring prior approval from a judge to travel beyond these limits. However, he is still prohibited from leaving the country.

The court’s decision followed Tate’s appearance, seeking an end to the restrictions placed on him, which were initially lifted after he won an appeal on August 4, securing his release from house arrest. Despite this development, the charges against Tate and his brother Tristan, involving the creation of a human trafficking group and alleged sexual assault on several women, continue to loom over them.
Romanian prosecutors formally indicted Tate in June, along with his brother Tristan and two Romanian women involved in the same case. The four were arrested in late December near Bucharest and have consistently denied the allegations against them.
The interview sheds light on the ongoing legal saga surrounding Tate, as he navigates the complex legal landscape while maintaining his innocence in the face of serious charges.
