Meghan Markle and Prince Harry surprised attendees on Tuesday as they graced the premiere of Bob Marley: One Love in Jamaica.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex walked the red carpet at the Carib Theatre in Kingston, with Meghan stunning in a black spaghetti strap top paired with a Carolina Herrera skirt and Jennifer Meyer earrings. Harry opted for a suit sans tie for the occasion.
Engaging with fellow guests, the royal couple conversed with Bob Marley’s son, Ziggy, and posed for photos with Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness, as well as Brian Robbins, the president and CEO of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon, alongside his wife Tracy James.
Notably, the event coincides with speculations that Jamaica may hold a referendum later this year to sever ties with the British monarchy.
The couple’s attendance at the film premiere stems from a personal invitation by the Robbins family, with whom they share a close friendship.
The movie, Bob Marley: One Love, set to release on Feb. 14, stars Kingsley Ben-Adir as the iconic singer and Lashana Lynch as his wife, Rita. It’s touted as a celebration of Marley’s life and music, conveying his inspiring message of love and unity on the big screen for the first time.
This visit marks Prince Harry and Meghan’s return to Jamaica, where they previously attended the 2017 wedding of Harry’s friend Tom “Skippy” Inskip to Lara Hughes-Young.
In a recent appearance at the Living Legends of Aviation Awards in Beverly Hills, Prince Harry, 39, was honored as an inductee, while Meghan, 42, had to miss the event due to one of their children falling ill.
Insiders say the couple, who are parents to 4-year-old son Prince Archie and 2-year-old daughter Princess Lilibet, privately sent “get well messages” to Prince Charles and Kate Middleton, who are currently dealing with health matters.
