Megyn Kelly’s Racist Remarks on Kamala Harris After Biden Endorsement (VIDEO)

Conservative commentator Megyn Kelly raised eyebrows on Sunday when she suggested American voters would struggle to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris if she runs for President as the Democratic nominee due to her race.

The former Fox News host, who has a history of making racist remarks, made the inflammatory comments on “The Megyn Kelly Show” podcast after President Joe Biden announced he is withdrawing from the 2024 presidential race and endorsed Harris as the Democratic pick.

“It’s impossible,” Kelly said of the likelihood of Harris being elected President of the United States.

“I realise we’ve had dumb people elected president before, she wouldn’t be the first but I mean, not only is she a woman, she’s a Black woman.

“Yes, we’ve elected a Black person before (mixed-race) – President Obama, but that alone, let’s be honest, that would be a challenge for her as the first Black woman. But on top of all that, she’s an idiot, that’s the real problem!”

Kelly’s comments came after Harris, 59, said she was “honoured” to have President Biden’s endorsement.

“On behalf of the American people, I thank Joe Biden for his extraordinary leadership as President of the United States and for his decades of service to our country. I am honoured to have the President’s endorsement and my intention is to earn and win this nomination,” Harris wrote on Twitter.

On January 20, 2021, Harris made history as the first woman, the first Black American, and the first South Asian American to be elected Vice President.

If she becomes the Democratic nominee and defeats Republican nominee Donald Trump in November, she would be the first woman to serve as president.

Democratic leaders rallied around Harris on Sunday, following Biden’s example. Still, her nomination is not yet assured.

Some have proposed a rapid “mini primary” to explore other candidates before the party’s convention in Chicago next month.

A recent AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll indicates that roughly 60% of Democrats think Harris would excel in the top role. Meanwhile, 20% are doubtful about her performance, and another 20% are uncertain or lack sufficient information.

The poll revealed that approximately 40% of U.S. adults view Harris positively, while around 50% hold an unfavourable view.

Harris, a former prosecutor and U.S. senator from California, saw her 2020 Democratic presidential bid collapse before the first primary vote.

She later joined Biden as his running mate but faced challenges in establishing her role as vice president. Tasked with handling migration issues from Central America, she has been frequently criticised by Republicans for difficulties related to illegal border crossings.

After the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022, Harris emerged as the White House’s most vocal proponent of abortion rights. She has also been instrumental in connecting with young voters and people of colour.

Her solid performance following Biden’s debate setbacks has strengthened her position among Democrats recently.

Even before Biden’s endorsement, Harris was already seen as the leading candidate to take his place on the ticket. With her background in foreign policy and widespread national recognition, she has a significant advantage over potential contenders such as California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro.
