Halle Bailey, the actress known for her role in The Little Mermaid, has announced the birth of her first child.
The 23-year-old welcomed a baby boy named Halo with her boyfriend DDG, 26, late last year.
Sharing a heartwarming photo of her newborn’s tiny hand adorned with a gold bracelet bearing the name Halo, Bailey expressed her excitement on Instagram.
“Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me was bring me my son… welcome to the world my halo 
the world is desperate to know you 
♥️,” she captioned the photo.
Halle and DDG initially sparked romance rumours in January 2022 while attending Usher’s Las Vegas residency.
They soon made their relationship public, sharing the love story on Instagram to mark Halle’s 22nd birthday in March 2022.
In a now-deleted post, DDG, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., reportedly showered Halle with compliments, describing her as “the beautifulest, the flyest, the sweetest.” Halle responded playfully, saying, “u will make me cry again.”
As for the origins of their fairytale romance, the Chloe x Halle singer revealed that she has been a longtime “fan” of the I’m Geekin rapper for several years.
Known for keeping her personal life private, Bailey did not confirm her pregnancy throughout the term.
Addressing comments about her appearance during pregnancy in November, Bailey defended herself on Snapchat, emphasizing her love for her features and asserting her right to privacy.
In earlier interviews, Bailey spoke about her relationship with DDG, describing it as “deep, deep love” that inspired her upcoming solo album.
