Justin Timberlake was arrested early Tuesday in Sag Harbor, New York, on DWI charges.
According to an arrest report obtained by People, Timberlake, 43, admitted to having “one martini” before driving his 2025 BMW through a stop sign and failing to stay in his lane.
The arresting officer noted Timberlake’s bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and unsteady movements, and detected a strong smell of alcohol. Despite these observations, the singer repeatedly refused a breathalyser test.
Timberlake was pulled over at 12:37 a.m. and taken to the Sag Harbor Police Headquarters for processing. There, he declined the chemical test three times, responding each time with “I refuse.”
The Grammy winner was charged with one count of driving while intoxicated and received citations for running a stop sign and failing to stay in his lane.
Following his arrest, Timberlake was held overnight and released the next morning on his own recognisance after appearing in the Sag Harbor Village Justice Court.
A source said during the arraignment, Timberlake was accompanied by attorney Ed Burke Jr. and two others, and was handcuffed “with his hands in front of him.”
The source also noted that Timberlake appeared upset, and his wife, Jessica Biel, was not present.
The arrest occurred during a brief pause in Timberlake’s Forget Tomorrow World Tour, promoting his latest album, Everything I Thought It Was.
He had recently performed in Miami on June 15 and was scheduled to continue his tour with performances in Chicago on June 21 and 22.
Timberlake is due back in court for a hearing on July 26.
