Comedian Katt Williams has taken the internet by storm with a nearly three-hour appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, where he candidly called out fellow comedians and entertainers, including Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer, Kevin Hart, and Diddy.
Williams, 52, revealed intriguing details about his film debut in the 2002 comedy Friday After Next, exposing a scene involving sexual assault that he vehemently opposed. His refusal led to the removal of the scene from the movie, emphasising that “rape is never funny.”
During the podcast, Williams accused Cedric the Entertainer of plagiarising one of his jokes verbatim and labeled Kevin Hart an industry “plant,” questioning the authenticity of his success.
He also delved into rejecting compromising offers, recounting incidents involving Harvey Weinstein and turning down a $50 million opportunity to protect his integrity.
Williams revealed he turned down $50 million four times during his career to safeguard his integrity.
Williams linked his decisions to “protecting that virgin hole” and resisting Diddy’s party invitations. The comedian emphasised having evidence to back his statements, asserting he reached Hollywood success while maintaining his principles.
In a later jab at Diddy, Williams commented on how he avoids looking at things he doesn’t want, contrasting it with Diddy’s alleged approach.
The comedian playfully remarked that if he looks at something, he gets it, hinting at Diddy’s lifestyle. Sharpe chuckled in response to Williams’ remarks.
In recent months, Diddy has faced accusations of sexual assault from at least four women, including one who was 17 at the time of the alleged incident.
Despite denying the allegations, the Bad Boy Records co-founder has had individuals, such as songwriter Tiffany Red, supporting some of his ex-girlfriend Cassie’s abuse claims, describing interactions with Diddy as “terrifying.”
Separately, Williams also called out Steve Harvey, alleging plagiarism and criticising his potential as a movie star. Williams addressed claims about his role in Friday After Next and his stance on working with Rickey Smiley moving forward.
Williams claimed he faced consequences for discussing allegations against Michael Jackson and R. Kelly but remained unapologetic. His targets, including Cedric the Entertainer, Kevin Hart, and Rickey Smiley, responded to the candid remarks with varying sentiments.
Williams expressed sympathy for celebrities like Taraji P. Henson, emphasising the challenges of being underpaid in Hollywood. He also criticised the public’s treatment of Kanye West, highlighting the importance of empathy for individuals facing mental health issues.
The podcast has ignited responses from the entertainment industry, with Williams’ candid revelations and criticisms dominating social media discussions.
