Following their decision to step back from their royal duties and relocate to California in 2020, Markle, 42, and Harry, 39, inked a multiyear deal with Netflix.

The deal, reported by The New York Times, outlined that their production hub, Archewell Productions, would exclusively create documentaries, docuseries, feature films, scripted shows, and children’s programming for the streaming platform.

In December 2022, their series Harry & Meghan became a Netflix hit, offering an intimate look at their love story, royal life, and their decision to leave the UK.

This six-episode series marked the most successful documentary debut week in Netflix history.

The couple then served as executive producers for the documentary series Live to Lead, featuring notable activists but not making on-screen appearances themselves.

The Netflix series Heart of Invictus, released in August, followed athletes preparing for the 2020 Invictus Games, initially scheduled for 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Archewell Productions is also adapting Carley Fortune’s romance novel Meet Me at the Lake for Netflix, as confirmed by the author in August.

Markle’s earlier work in the TV series Suits has experienced a resurgence and gained a new audience on Netflix since its inclusion in the platform’s lineup.

Although Archewell Audio, Markle and Harry’s venture with Spotify, concluded after one season of Meghan’s Archetypes podcast, Netflix has confirmed their ongoing collaboration with Archewell Productions, ensuring a continued partnership between the streaming giant and the dynamic duo.
