Meghan Markle Dazzles in Recycled Red Gown at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Gala

Sustainable and stylish, Meghan Markle turned heads in a surprise appearance at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) 2024 Gala on Saturday.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, wowed in a stunning red Carolina Herrera gown that she first wore in 2021, proving that fashion can be both fabulous and eco-friendly.

Meghan looked sensational in the vibrant dress, designed with a plunging neckline and a daring front slit, paired with strappy red heels as she posed for photos on the red carpet.

The event, held to honour CHLA’s young patients and dedicated paediatric staff, drew plenty of buzz, but it was Meghan’s timeless ensemble that stole the show.

The Duchess first rocked the Carolina Herrera gown three years ago when she attended the Salute to Freedom Gala in New York City alongside Prince Harry.

Back then, she paired the gown with a sweeping train and red Giuseppe Zanotti heels, the duo also donning red poppies in tribute to veterans.

This time around, Meghan left the train at home but still made a powerful statement with her re-wear, reminding us that great style never fades.

Though she may have skipped the dramatic train this time, Meghan didn’t hold back on the charm.

Smiling and engaging with guests, she took photos with families and patients, and later shared a heartwarming moment with a group of nurses from the hospital.

After spending time mingling, she was quietly escorted out via a side door, but not before leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met.

This isn’t the first time Meghan has shown her support for CHLA. In March, she led a Literally Healing session at the hospital and spoke at length about how much she admires the work they do.

During the gala, she praised the hospital again, calling it the “best place in the world” for children to receive care.

“Oh my goodness, the work they do at Children’s Hospital L.A. is otherworldly,” Meghan said in an interview shared on Instagram.

“I think from my standpoint as a mother, no one wants to be in a position where you need to go to a place like this, but if you have to, the best place in the world you could go would be Children’s Hospital L.A.”

Her admiration for the hospital’s staff and their commitment to providing care, particularly to families who couldn’t otherwise afford it, was clear.

“The staff is incredible, and the amount of work they do for families that really could not afford this level of care is something that I think should never be overlooked,” she added. “So I’m just grateful for everything they do, and happy to be here to support.”

Markle’s appearance at the CHLA Gala may have been a surprise, but it was certainly a memorable one. Between her radiant red gown and her heartfelt support for the hospital, she once again proved why she’s not only a fashion icon but also a passionate advocate for causes close to her heart.
