Recent reports of relationship turbulence within the Cyrus family have surfaced, but Miley Cyrus seems to have been kept in the dark about the alleged drama surrounding her sister, Noah Cyrus, and their mum, Tish Cyrus.
Insiders claim the pop star, Miley, was completely oblivious that Noah had previously dated her mother Tish’s new husband Dominic Purcell, according to People.
“Miley had no idea about the drama with Dominic. No idea at all,” the insider told the outlet of the “Flowers” singer, 31, after a source revealed that Noah, 24, and Purcell, 54, had been seeing each other before his marriage to Tish, 56.
Upon learning of the situation, Miley reportedly approached her mother to address the matter.
“She thinks it’s a strange situation, but she loves her mom and wants her to be happy,” the source said.
Representatives for the family have not responded to requests for comment.
Earlier reports indicated that Noah was “taken aback” by her mother’s relationship with the actor from Prison Break. Noah and Purcell allegedly had a casual relationship that had ended before Tish pursued her own connection with him.
According to the insider, Tish was aware of Purcell’s prior involvement with Noah, but discussions between mother and daughter never took place before Tish’s marriage to Purcell.
Tish and Purcell exchanged vows in a ceremony held in Miley’s backyard on Aug. 19, 2023, with Noah absent from the event.
This union followed Tish’s divorce from Billy Ray Cyrus in April 2022, after over 28 years of marriage.
The former couple shares a blended family of children, including Brandi, Miley, and Noah, as well as sons Trace and Braison. Additionally, Billy Ray has another son, Christopher Cody, from a previous relationship.
The insider also disclosed that the divorce had been particularly challenging for the children. Despite the difficulties, it was deemed necessary and long overdue.
