In an interview with Vogue, Richie, 25, announced that they are expecting a baby girl, although the exact due date is not yet known.

“She’s growing pretty fast, so [the due date] is a bit up in the air,” the socialite said.

“I love the YouTubes and the TikToks—even before I was talking about getting pregnant—of gender reveals, so we had our [obstetrician] text my assistant Becca [our baby’s gender], and we bought two party poppers: one blue, one pink.

“She left out the one with the correct color inside, and Elliot and I popped it together. We both really thought it was a boy, so it was a true shock. My dream in life is to have a daughter [though], and Elliot is really excited for a girl too.

“I think it’s so typical for boys to want boys, but he has a lot of sisters. It was really sweet. He’s very sensitive.”

Expressing their excitement, Richie shared, “My dream in life is to have a daughter, and Elliot is really excited for a girl too.”

She highlighted the sweet and sensitive nature of her husband, who, despite having sisters, was genuinely thrilled about the prospect of welcoming a daughter into their lives.

This forthcoming addition to their family marks the first child for Richie, who is the daughter of music icon Lionel Richie, and for Grainge, 30, the founder and CEO of the independent record label 10K Projects.

The couple exchanged vows in April last year, during a lavish wedding at the exclusive Hotel du Cap-Eden-Rock in Antibes, France.

In a previous interview with Town & Country, Richie emphasised the importance of maintaining a balance between personal life and social media exposure.

“We don’t live out our whole lives on Instagram. We know when to turn it off,” she said.

Post-wedding, Richie has embraced the serenity of married life, expressing gratitude for the calm and quiet moments shared with her husband.

Reflecting on the joy of being newlyweds, she shared in Vogue’s 24 Hours With series, “Being married is the best… When we’re together, it’s just calm and quiet.”
